Mackenzie Hand
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Mackenzie is a true Salemite. She attended local elementary, middle and high schools - graduating from West Salem High School in 2015. She attended the University of Oregon after - graduating in 2019 with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Journalism. Mackenzie was most recently employed by the Oregon Department of Corrections, working both in the fiscal area and case management. Before coming to Grace House, Mackenzie was a correctional counselor at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville. Although she attended the University of Oregon, she grew up in a house that bled orange and black. Mackenzie and her family are huge baseball fans, which led them to travel to every Major League Baseball park in the United States! Mackenzie’s parents have always encouraged her to see the world through lenses outside of her own, and baseball has always laid an unexpected, yet beautiful, foundation for doing just that. Baseball to Mackenzie is a testament to life, to family, to love. All things she feels extremely passionate about. At the end of the day, as Bob Goff says, “Love does”. Love always wins.
